Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Cheshire Home Surveys Ltd handles personal data connected with this website and our services.

Last updated: 1 August 2026

1. Who we are

Cheshire Home Surveys Ltd is the data controller for personal data handled in connection with our surveying and valuation services. We operate in Cheshire and surrounding areas.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may receive:

  • your name, email address and telephone number;
  • property details needed to prepare an estimate or provide an instructed service;
  • information you include when you contact us directly by telephone or email;
  • records connected with an estimate, instruction, appointment or report; and
  • website usage information collected through Google Analytics only when you allow analytics cookies.

3. How we receive information

SurveyQuotation provides the quotation journey embedded on this website. Information entered into that service is sent to SurveyQuotation and made available to Cheshire Home Surveys Ltd for the purpose of reviewing your estimate or enquiry.

If you call or email us, we receive the information that you choose to provide through your telephone or email service. This website does not operate a separate contact form.

4. How and why we use personal data

We use personal data where necessary to:

  • prepare and review an estimate before confirming a final fee;
  • respond to direct questions and arrange requested services;
  • provide an instructed survey or valuation and communicate about it;
  • keep appropriate business, professional and financial records; and
  • understand and improve website use where analytics consent has been given.

The relevant lawful basis may be taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, pursuing a legitimate business or professional interest, or your consent. The basis depends on the activity concerned.

5. Analytics and campaign information

Google Analytics is disabled until you allow analytics cookies. If enabled, it receives website measurement events such as page views and selected link interactions. The website is configured not to send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, property addresses or other quotation details to analytics.

If you allow marketing storage, Google may retain an advertising click identifier and use it to connect an enquiry with the advert that produced the visit. Standard campaign parameters already present in the page address may also be carried to the SurveyQuotation page. This website does not independently save those parameters in browser storage without the relevant consent, and personalised advertising remains disabled.

You can change your analytics choice at any time through “Cookie settings” in the website footer. See our Cookie Policy for more information.

6. Sharing information

We do not sell personal data. We may share relevant information with:

  • SurveyQuotation, which provides the embedded estimate service;
  • technology, administration and communication providers needed to operate the business;
  • professional advisers, insurers or contractors where necessary; and
  • regulators, public authorities or other parties where disclosure is required by law or professional obligations.

Each provider is responsible for handling information in accordance with its role and applicable data-protection requirements.

7. Retention and security

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal, financial, insurance and professional requirements. The appropriate period depends on the type of record and the service provided.

We use appropriate organisational and technical measures intended to protect personal data and limit access to people and providers who need it for an authorised purpose.

8. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or transfer of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

9. Other websites and policy changes

Links or embedded services operated by other organisations have their own privacy information. We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will remain available on this page.

10. Contact us

Contact us if you have a privacy question or want to exercise a data-protection right.
